How to Add Tomatoes to Every Meal

Tomatoes are highly nutritious. They are chock-full of vitamin C, vitamin A, and are a good source of potassium. They are also high in antioxidants and lycopene. With all of these great qualities, people can lower their risk for many illnesses and diseases such as cancer and heart disease. The only way to get all of these benefits though is to get enough tomatoes in your diet.

It's not as easy as most people believe it is to get the amount of tomatoes they need. Tomatoes is considered a fruit, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends two to three cups of vegetables or fruits a day. While you don't have to make those cups all tomatoes, you can if you love the taste of them. The following are some of the best ways you can add tomatoes to every meal of the day.

Breakfast
If you're making an omelet, add the tomatoes into it. Even if you're just making scrambled eggs, you can throw diced tomatoes in them. Toast some bread and add some diced tomatoes on top like a bruschetta. Sprinkle it with some basil and add some mozzarella to give it more flavor. Make a burrito with eggs, ham and tomatoes. The tomatoes give it a fresh, juicy taste. 

Lunch
Lunch is the perfect time for a tomato sandwich. You can add lettuce, mayo and toast the bread. Add tomatoes to your salad. Again, they add a lot of flavor to the lettuce. It compliments most salad dressings as well. Make a tomato pizza with some English muffins or dough. You can put some pizza sauce on it, a layer of cheese and then some tomatoes on top of that.

Dinner
Pasta and tomato sauce is great, but add some fresh tomatoes & a little bit of chopped basil to it and you really have a tomato-filled dinner. Grill some chicken, heat up some chopped tomatoes with parsley and basil and then cover the chicken with it. You can add some cheese on top to add even more flavor.

Cut the top of a tomato, remove the insides, and then fill it with cheese and basil. You can also fill it with chicken pieces, ham, eggs, or whatever you would like. It's beautiful looking and delicious. As you can see it's not difficult to eat tomatoes at every meal. Many times, you won't even taste a lot of the tomatoes.
